The Gracey Farm
John William Strode Lander was 39 years old when he passed away. He had accumulated six farms before his death. At his passing, each child drew a piece of paper from a hat to determine which farm they would receive. Bettie Lander Hopson drew the farm at the corner of Cerulean Springs & Sinking Fork Roads in Gracey, KY. Her brother, William "Will" Newton Lander, drew a farm across the road. Bettie's farm was 136 acres. There she settled with Meredith Shellcross Hopson. Together they farmed the land and raised their three children: Guy, Mary, and Bess.
